Daniel, for me the factor was cost, either way i couldn't go wrong . I couldn't go full in with a Sony A7RII or III when i'm just getting into this, gonna give this a go for a bit and see where I am in a few months. Luckily i have a mate who has the Sony so i can play and compare. For me at least the Fuji is a bit small in my hands, so that needs getting used to , but i do love the portability of it. I have it paired with a 35 2.0 which is amazing. AF is out of this world , compared to my 5D it is night and day. It's been snowing and cold here so i haven't had a real good day with it yet .

That does explain it. I have the M5 and IQ/feature wise I love it, I just wish it had a FF sensor. I mostly shoot primes so I'm used to knowing exact what distance I need to stand for the composition I want so using the crop sensor always throws that off.

Fuji has some really nice fast lenses which I liked the look of before getting my M5. Also when it comes to cost, the Sony bodies are definitely quite pricey.

If you can it’s probably best financially to stay a revision behind. Sony updates regularly and when they do prices come down on the previous model. For example the a7rii can be picked up now for £1500 compared to £2400 on release. If you mainly shoot landscapes and don’t need the AF advantage the original a7r can be had much much cheaper and the sensor is amazing

Yeah I've seen the A7R II for around that price here in Aus by grey market sellers. I would go for the a7r II but from everything I read, the R3 has a nicer EVF and AF is better with adapted lenses. Hopefully by the time I save enough the price will have dropped to under $4000 here.

Yeah the R3 is def the better camera with the improvements over the R2 and would be the one to get if you can swing it. Price is too high for me at the moment but will upgrade when the price is around £2k

Great shot Mark! Still thoroughly enjoying the Fuji?

Daniel I am, beginning to get a bit more comfortable with it now. Weather just not good around my parts lately so few very days where i can go out to enjoy. I actually gave myself a 14 day window to see if the Fuji was for me and maybe return it and try the Sony, but I think I'm good with the Fuji.

Now unfortunately now that i am enjoying the X-T20 , i wonder how much better is it's big brother X-T1 ? LOL!!

No as good as the X-T2
