Just got back from this off week's trip, lot's to catch up--will read after a nap :)
But this my first serious pixel shift effort. Strange downsampling from a 250mb file to 1280 for a forum
AND when I do all the luscious detail is gone :(
Anyway, my favorite building in the U.S., the Southern Virginia University's main hall. I used the 12-24mm

Probably my last image from Joshua Tree...there are others I could edit, but I don't love them...and just don't want to spend the time to work on an image if I have no plans for it...so, from the last sunset on the trip, last night on the trip...that last good burn...and one of the first non architecture images I have used Luminosity masks for since moving to Sony.

Love the colors and the smaller tree on the right and the way you framed the main tree on the left.

I miss building computers, but I really like the walled garden of Apple. And I have come a long way in capabilities with just my 10.5” iPad Pro. The main thing I use my MBP for now is exporting my finished images. My focus lately is to simplify my life. I haven’t always done a good job and it hasn’t always looked like that was my goal. Lol

If I could start over with all the cash invested still in my pocket, I would just get my Sony kit and an iPad Pro. No laptop. No crazy fast glass. Maybe 1 travel zoom. That’s it.

A few more sample shots from the Zeiss 35 f2 ZE lens. I promise some color images soon but I am loving this lens for converting to black and white.

Not sure if this helps anyone, but I snagged an HP 15" Omen for $499 on clearance from Wal-Mart. While I haven't altered it yet, you slap a 4k screen and SDD in it and that's a quick and powerful laptop on the cheap. As is, it is a huge upgrade from my Vaio gen4 i7 laptop in every way but display.

I found it on Slickdeals right before Thanksgiving weekend, but somehow I still see stock in stores. I have to think they will go on sale again.

If you go through the thread, you will see people used means to get the laptop even cheaper than I.

Brilliant!!

Thanks. He certainly stretched tall and fluffed out when the other male flew in and moments after I got that shot, he was off to chase the interloper away.

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a sweet machine. $900 is a bit steep for me but if it comes down to $500 again I'll be all over it.

Canon 80D and kit zooms. Also 50mm 1.8 and 10-16mm.

A couple of quick questions if you don't mind.

1. What remote controller do you guys recommend for my A7mkii

2. What is your preferred print size when having your images printed?

Cheers in advance :)

I use a cheap £5 wireless remote to trigger the shutter. I also use a cheap wired intervaleter (neweer I think)

For prints my fav size for family stuff is 9x6 with a 1/4” white border. For landscapes it varies up to about 20x30

I think I'm caught up with the thread.
Lots of good things going on (Eddie, wow landscape all I can say).
Randall I love living through your lens...you know a hillybilly like me would be scared
to death to walk those streets!
Eriet-my prayers man, big time.
Travis I have to wonder how MANY EXPLORES you got from Joshua Tree!!

I'm time shifting getting ready for my night gig in the hospital/staying up late so I can think at 0300 in a couple
of days. Did this picture up for the lady at EasyCover once the last one got here. I know many don't like them, but
I mod mine out to even work with battery grips, apply Sugru where I need it, and just love the protection factor from
dings/nicks/bumps. I guess going through a bush for a bird or moose and I'm more likely to catch a branch or something,
plus I like the feel/grip they give. Regardless this was my night's project, another family portrait (shot with the RX10iv and
3 Godox's), front to back: a6500, a7Rii,a7Riii, a9-
