US Nifty again! I have finally found some time in my exteremly busy schedule.
The upscale shopping mall is a place I rarely go to for a few reasons: I hate shopping but if I have to do some other than groceries, I mostlty do it on line. This time I was meeting a client who was picking up a painting and she designated that mall. Since I always carry my camera with me, I decided to go inside just to have a quick look. Much to my surprise and delight I discovered a gold mine of public art; I was in heaven until a security guy chased me off saying that shooting is not permitted with professional cameras! I tried to downplay the professional part showing him my fat camera with that tiny Nifty on it but the guy wasn't going to take it. So, I missed a few nice sculptures with Nifty but was able to shoot some with my cellphone which supposedly has one of the best cameras...talking about Pixel XL. It's not bad and I may attch some shots in the mobile phone thread later on.
First off, here is a PDF map of the art, however I'm, not sure whether all of the paintings and sculptures are on display right bow. I discovered the map after my visit to North Park. https://www.mallmaverick.com …alityFinal.pdf?1509460802 (external link)
The three barrel like things are not what one would expect. Created by Iván Navarro (Chilean, born 1972)
This Land is Your Land, 2014
Neon, Wood, Painted Steel, Galvanized Steel,
Aluminum, Mirror, One-way Mirror, and Electric Energy
Each: 189 x 105 1/8 x 105 1/8 inches
Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Collection

View of the 3 structures and in the second shot the inside that is a 3 shot panorama. You can see me reflecting in the very top section :)

Here is a similar sculpture created by the same artist and it is planted inside a small business of sorts; I didn't pay attention to what it was.

Nancy A. Nasher and David J. Haemisegger Collection.
The round sculpture is called Nothing Will Come of Nothing, 2015

A detail of the round sculpture again. They are absolutely fascinating and seem to be based on a similar principal like those lovely kid's kaleidoscopes.
A view of the next sculpture

This belongs to the previous set of three pieces.

A view of one of the walkways with the red sculpture called Ad Astra in the background.
Also, notice the squares above some store fronts. They tell you how to mix colors...kind of fun. You'll be suroprised knowing that a lot of people I have come across have no idea what they will get out of mixing blue with yellow. They must have slpet trhough kindergarten :)
