I hate you BIF peeps.

Stupid woodpecker I tried for an hour to get him while flying and this is the only shot that even came close to in frame and barely focused....... not due to the A9 but due to my slow reactions on them.

If you don't mind 'fudging' a bit, the content aware move tool can be helpful sometimes. I also upscaled the image to 1280px on the long side.

Anyone own the 24-70 GM? I’ve been finding myself looking at it more and more even though it goes against everything I switched to Sony for

Thanks Eddie. Walking Dead type place for sure. We drove down single lane dirt roads today that had me playing the banjo music from Deliverance. :p

FE 24-70mm GM: yep, I want one. I love the rendering and colors I see from the lens. Hate the weight/size, love everything else.

But, I must confess there is scarcely an FE lens I wouldn’t absolutely love to own. All the GM lenses make me drool (except the 100mm, which doesn’t).

I was at one of the covered bridge filming locations today (as well as the final shootout scene from the movie Lawless). Will post results later in a day or two.

I’m talking myself into the 24-70 GM by saying I could carry just one Lens and the weight wouldn’t be that bad. But in the back of my mind I can see myself sticking an 85 and a wide prime in the bag too “just In case” every time I went out

Outside of paid shoots, I prefer a bag of primes vs a single zoom. I had the 24-70GM, but I dunno...there's just something about the camera itself being so big and heavy that makes it less enjoyable to shoot with. If I'm out and about, I'd rather have a small camera in hand, while carrying a bag of small primes. I usually have a camera bag on me either way so keeping a couple of primes in there doesn't feel like too much of a hassle....but a big ole zoom on camera just feels so cumbersome.

Awesome reflection David. I also enjoyed your previous 2 images (skyline and aquarium).

How do you choose which 35mm lens to shoot?

Star Wars

Next time I do this, I'd like to try using gelled lights for the ambient glow of the lightsaber. It never looks right when I add it in post. I have two AD200's that I can use speedlight gels on so it'd be pretty straight forward.

Thanks Alfredo!

I pick my 35mm based on my primary interest at the moment. Whenever I want to shoot wide open, like the Aquarium image, I run with the FE 35mm 1.4 ZA. For the gas station/super market I was initially shooting the gas pumps @ f/1.4, so I had the lens already mounted for that reason. However if I am being more deliberate about a stopped-down architecture/landscape shot then I always go with the Loxia. Awesome lenses both (for me).
