My two favorite pictures include the first picture I took of my wife Rena on our first date together... which was incidentally the day we first met and (oddly to some people) the day we got engaged. The camera I used was the original 2.1MP (2.0 effective pixels) sub-compact Digital Canon 'IXUS' - which was their first all-metal (stainless?) digital pocket-sized digital camera. It was groundbreaking at the time and not obscenely expensive. I still have it in a glass cabinet next to me as I write this reply. It was not only my digital camera but it was also the first camera I'd owned. We had met online 9 months earlier - and were sought after by a lot of local newspapers for interviews. She was from Canada and I was from Australia. We just celebrated our 16th anniversary a few weeks ago.

The second shot (above) was taken about a year ago... on our way to a Broadway style show that she had produced costumes for (she's a seamstress). We had cut through the local park at night and I took a candid picture of her as she stopped to admire the lights in the trees. She thought I was photographing the lights behind her. Unfortunately I didn't quite get my ISO or exposure settings right ... but I still like the shot. Was taken with the Canon EOS 6D + EF 85mm f/1.2L USM II lens.

:-P

This is the water spout thing that shoots water from the ground at Universal Studio's City walk in LA. My wife was standing in between the rows of water spouts so she's completely dry.

Took a few attempts to get the final result.

 she seems to be the possessive type!

(then again, I suppose handling an 85mm f/1:4L does that to people - good luck getting it back)

BTW: a nice, clear shot and very expressive :-)

You proposed to her on your first date? That takes some chutzpah!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Why waste such a valuable thing as time?
