Not sure where this goes but can someone fix this? Remove sun from faces and her jacket? And tell me how you do it? Thanks in advance.

Just leave it. It is one of those powerful pictures where content and moment prevails. It doesn't have to be one from million of technically perfect, but dead photos. It isn't one from the millions already.

Yep ... no fixing this one. Enjoy it the way that it is!

So I guess it can't be fixed like I asked. I meant to say a friend wanted the sun removed from faces and jacket. Not my photo. I see it different....it's a mess.

This can be fixed. If a RAW file is available, all the better, but even with a JPG it can be done.

I'd separate out the hot exposed areas from the rest and use a mask to minimize the wide color temp and exposure difference. The sharpish shadow line would make this relatively easy, but still a bit of a pain.

I gave it my best shot, considering it was a low quality JPG with a lot of artifacts and really terrible color shifts. It's not perfect but I only spent about 30 to 45 minutes on it.

I tried to match the luminosity of the various areas (his face, hre shin and her neck) as best as possible. I then worked to knock down the yellow of the bright areas. After that it was a matter of cleaning up the transition areas where the shadow met the light.

Obviously working from a full res raw file would be prefered but this should show that it can be done.

Here is a screenshot of my PS window to show you the different layers. Hopefully this gives you some ideas of how it can be done.
