Thanks. It's one of those typical mid-century modern architectural facade screens. This was taken in downtown Macon, Georgia yesterday afternoon.

Love the perspective and focus dropoff of the image David. I followed your other two Flickr accounts. Was this image uploaded to one of those accounts?

Some GAS related stuff

Got the Sunwayfoto L bracket for the R3....... love it except for one thing.... the stainless 1/4 screw is FLAT HEAD ONLY..... why no hex? Love the one piece design, but flat head will annoy me forever, so I'll search for a hex screw SS.... ugh. $60 for the L bracket, so not bad.

Breakthrough photography plate.... got a 60mm version, super nice for tripod foot. Much better than cheapo import stuff.

Neewer FD to e-mount adapter..... fit isnt well, but only adapter of the three I have that allows me to hit inifinity with my lens. So lame, but will have to make due.

My gear acquisition has been uneventful, just polishing my kit a bit.

Thanks Alfredo. This was the first image uploaded to my new account. It's going to feature mainly my walk-around street shooting and my other accouint will be left for more serious architectural, cityscape, landscape images.

Speaking of polishing, I've just about got my Xume kit ready to order. It's disappointing that Manfrotto makes their magnetic lens caps in just 77mm. Do standard Sony lens caps work OK with Xume?

I would freak!
Can you believe in all these years I've never dropped a camera. I've dropped me while
holding a camera but even then have kept it in the air. My sad day is coming though,
just a matter of time.

Yeah, glad it worked out for you Travis.

I have become much more careful with my equiptment over the years, I've been caught a few times placing my backpack on the ground and lifting it up with out it being zipperred shut.

I've only had one really bad experience and that was in my Canon days, I had a Canon 1D mark2 and a 24-70L on top of a patio table on our deck and a freak burst of wind lifted the sun umbrella partially up and tilted the table enough to have my rig slide off the table and land with a lound thud on a ceramic floor from about 3 feet off the ground-? Fortunately the point of impact was on the rediculously large plastic lenshade of the 24-70L which took the brunt of the impact, the follow-up bounce had the camera land on the RRS L bracket . All in all I was super lucky, no real damage done to either the lens or the body.

Unfortunately, no, standard lens caps dont work, you'de have to use the xume lens cap. I dont typically use caps, so I forgot that detail.

OK thanks. Not a deal-breaker. I'll likely just do the same and skip the caps.

Regardless I can't wait to get my lenses outfitted with the Xume adapters. Standardizing on 67mm via step-up rings is such a great idea! Planning to have a 3-stop, 6-stop, and 10-stop ND in 67mm.

My only outlier is the FE 35mm 1.4 (72mm filter), but I don't need NDs for that lens (do need a CPL though).

I’m currently getting gas for the 85GM (loving the look and feel of the 24-70 as well as the iq ). Since I own the batis 85 and the FE90 it’s a stupid, stupid idea. But.......

pitfall of circular systems ;-)a

I have a lot of lenses that wont work with my xumes, so I have to stay disciplined with my selection.

btw, tried the xume on my 24mm + 49->67mm, no vignetting. Pretty sure it wont vignette with the loxia even if a bit wider. Downside is that stacking filters can get fumbly, I'de only consider stacking 1, like a polarizer.

I'm doing ok with G.A.S but am suffering more from location acquisition syndrome, meaning I want to travel more. There are so many places on my list that I want to visit but it's not possible right now. Japan, Thailand, Iceland, Faroe Islands, Patagonia, Alaska, Pac Northwest, Vancouver, Zion, Death Valley, London, Chicago, Dubai all sound amazing to me.

Edit: Add Scotland to the list too!

they all sound amazing to me too! I mentioned we were looking at Japan the other day but it’s now pretty much set we are going but it’s not until April 2019!! So got a long time to plan things. Next thing I seriously need to buy as opposed to another 85mm is a photo backpack

I'm with stupid. :p
Been dreaming about an 85mm GM too. My preference is to have 1.4 primes at 35, 50, and 85 (along with Loxias for landscape/city/architecture). However, that's more of a maybe next year/maybe never sort of dreaming.

Wow, we got some group think going on here! I've been feeling the same way. Starting to plan a 3-week camp trip and trying to decide when/where to go. Thinking San Juan Mountains, Colorado, Anyplace, Utah, or maybe somewhere in New Mexico.

Although I'm usually OCD about perfect verticals in my architectural captures, it's just not realistic for an extreme POV like this, so I did a 50% correction in DXO Viewpoint and I think it feels about right
