Outstanding pair of photographs Neil! I especially love the first one Sony A9, Pentax K1 MKii, Panasonic G9, Sony 200-600, Samyang 12mm F2 NCS CS, 7Artisans 7.5mm f2.8 fisheye, Panagor 90mm f2.8 Macro (OM), , Sigma APO 2x DG EX TC, Tiffen aXent ND 3.0 (ND1000) filter, Olympus OMD E-M5(drown in the Atlantic), Oly 14-42mm, Oly 12-50mm, ZEQ25gt Mount, plus a few other lenses, extension tubes, and general mish-mash

Jan 31, 2018 06:37 | #775 For me, I find it optically better, Even with the teleconverters, particularly the 2x. I use my 2x a lot and can get very good results with it. Losing a metre from the mfd is so much more useful. You cannot ignore the weight saving, but the balance of the lens is great, Its no longer top heavy.. Queens Royal Hussars

Feb 08, 2018 02:24 | #776 Here is a shot using the 2x. Surprisingly it is WAAAAAAY better than on my 500 f4. Surprisingly good.
A 100% crop from LR with standard sharpening and some NR in place. It loses contrast and gains that hazy sharpness but if I need 1200mm I will not hesitate to use it.
