Not sure really. We adopted him from the humane society and were told that the director came into the facility one morning and found him with his cornea burst open. So they took him to the vet where they removed the eye. Don't be fooled though....he's quite efficient with just one. He was my daughter's 6th birthday present - she named him Patch.
