Burrowing owl from a few years ago, I am just going through old images that I never processed for whatever reasons.
I do want to say that there is some REALLY GOOD images here, it sure is entertaining, better than watching T.V.! :)

That's stunning!

Thanks Jack. The quality of the images on this thread are so great I kind of hesitate to post anything here. Of course when you have a hawk like this one sit there about 20 feet away and let you take its photo, it is possible to get an image that is worthy of posting on this thread. :-)

Does the TF actually know about the soda cans and PVC pipe from 30 years ago?

This is the Great Northern Diver at Sharpness in Gloucester. I was reading some facts about these birds and it surprised me to read that there are records of these birds living for over 30 years and historic evidence suggests that the Great Northern Divers have been around for at least 20,000,000 years, making them the oldest and most primitive example of a bird alive today.

Just look at that eye and bill apparently When attacked or when defending their young Great Northern Divers have been known to rush their attackers in an attempt to impale them.

I don't fancy being impaled by that serious bit of kit at the end of it's head.-?

Turned out nice again, Paul! Your 120 mile round trip the other day was definitely worth it. We talked about driving up to Longford to see the Penduline Tit, and maybe go for the Diver too, but, for us, it's over 90 miles just to get there and with the short winter days... well, we decided to go to Radipole tomorrow instead to look for some Beardies. Wish us luck, please!

Trik, good luck at Radipole for Beardies, a great place to see Marsh Harrier's also.
The Penduline Tit and GN Diver have been showing for over 2 months now, the're be round for some time yet so plenty of time to see them. Look forward to seeing your photo's of what ever you manage to see. Enjoy your day and incidentally the weather looks good for you.
