No, Palle just has small hands and, you know, everything looks bigger.....
 :p

Speaking of Palle, off to IKEA today (probably as a punishment for something as we are also brining the kids) & am going to try very hard not to buy a panel light.

One of my favourite photographers of old is Yousuf Karsh, he almost always used constant lighting to create with and as battery powered LED lighting getting very accurate and bright I'm strongly considering moving that way soon. Anyone else use them or similar here?

Thanks for pointing us to Yousuf Karsh. We are all familiar with at least some of his work but I for one was ignorant of the photographer. What a body of work!

So it's been mentioned here (by Kim and some others possibly?).. That they have there cameras set to auto focus but then when you adjust focus ring goes temporarily in to MF mode with peaking and all and you can fine tune focus (would b3 especially helpful in low light when AF fails).

How do i set that up? Im assuming that's not default setting . I've been through the menu and messed around with different settings to get that but im not finding it?

Or did I misunderstand how it works?

Go into Menu - AF MF (page2) Turn AF+MF to ON. Also if you want it to zoom in set Focus check to On. You need to keep the shutter button half pressed.

I tried those settings in all sorts of combination.. what i wasn't doing was the shutter half press.
Will give it a try after work today

Thansk!

Lucas, you're making me curious about these 7artisans lenses ... and I've just had a text from the store to let me know my 23mm has arrived. I'll stick with that one but for a 50mm equivalent (focal length I don't use too much) the 7artisans 35mm is very tempting indeed. For the price you can't really go wrong.

I really like the second shot by the way.

Thanks!

Yeah, the 25mm vastly surpassed my expectations. It's definitely soft in the corners, but really only at the very edge of the corners (still not a lens I would want to use for landscapes). The biggest drawback of the lens for me is the focus throw, it's a bit too short for my tastes, hard to make accurate small changes in focus. Optically I think it's about as good as my Samyang 21mm which is amazing given how much cheaper it is.

What little I've found on the 35/1.2 seems to be pretty positive. I'm waiting until it's available through Amazon Prime like their other lenses are, then I'll pick it up just to satisfy my curiosity (since my XF 35/1.4 is easily my favorite lens, I don't see the 7artisans replacing it).
