I don't use LR mobile, so hoping I have no issues, but I'm installing the update right now. If I do have similar issues then I'll just take it as a harder push moving me into the C1 camp.

I always know when LR has an update...my installation crashes at every command, anything makes it crash...it forces me to update...trying to use it tonight...it won't run...if I didn't really dislike the interface of C1...I would have switched already...

On another note - I'm loving the accuracy of my A7r3 focus, even with adapted Canon lenses.

if for no other reason...the focus accuracy is why I could not go back to a Canon DSLR...the Sony just nails focus for me...if it doesn't, its usually if not always my fault.

i do think i'll be selling off most of my canon gear .. including the ef 35 mkii..

i really love the lens .. hate to get rid of it..

BUT.. i'm selling off the 80d and pretty much everything else canon (except my old t4i and a lens or 2 , and that's more for sentimental reasons since it was my first "real" camera ) and pretty much its going to be a sony/Fuji world for me ..

how ever what will fill its place.. the fe28 is nice and close enough in focal length .. BUT i'm not going to pretend like they are in the same league when it comes to quality.

the native 35 1.4 seems to be the only option , although more than i'd prefer to spend

maybe there is a Manual focus lens out there in the same level but much cheaper ??

time for some research

Native e mount MF...that Cv 40 f 1.2 looks good...but the FE 35 is a real good lens...it would complete my portrait kit...

Interesting idea, might work well with a cityscape

Yes that would be nice. I just used this because I was already doing a time lapse there. Next time I'll make sure the evening part has a sunset shot.

I have always been an advocate of the Capture Clip however after today I thought I’d share a word of caution

I was out on the beach today trying to get a long exposure when the unthinkable happened. Firstly although I had my tripod I had forgotten the head as i last used it with my monopod. So with a bit of quick thinking I removed my Capture Clip (v2) and screwed it the tripod thread to make a temporary quick release. All ok so far. However it all went down hill rapidly when I moved the tripod and my beloved A7Rii and fe85 came tumbling off and plummeted towards the rocky shore. I have to admit my heart stopped however at the last moment I managed to get my foot under neath it and it gently rolled off my foot onto the stones. No damage done (huge sigh of relief). However on inspection I’ve discovered that the catch that holds the plate onto the clip doesn’t spring into its locked position. Although it’s a great concept I think I will stick to a holster case from now on

do you mean the locking pin? It has to be turned manually. Also the design requires gravity, it’s not intended for the clip to be used flat which sounds like what you have done here. It requires gravity to make the bit on the camera engage properly

Not the red pin the little black piece that slides back and forth that holds the plate (the red button moves it). As to using it horizontally, in the marketing video it goes on about how it can be used as a tripod head. Which is why the pro version has a thread in the bottom

those look nice and clean with nice control of the light.

I have an idea for a shot like this, its been done before in other places and I have always wanted to do one...tonight would be a good night for it...but I feel like complete hell today...fighting off the tail end of a bout with the flu...

there's an artist who does this extensively and what i mean by that is he spends hours literally hours on the same spot I think he even spent hours on a construction crane that hoisted him up so he can make his composition. he takes a ton of photos which he then blends perfectly. he takes the shots at particular times of the day to get the specific exposure he wants for a fraction of the scene. this takes a lot of commitment to do really well

I believe the photographer you refer to is Stephen Wilkes...http://www.stephenwilkes.com …a8-4dcf-aade-19f6ac110004 (external link)

and yes, it takes a ton of time and commitment...and probably more photoshop talent than I have...but it hasn't stopped me from wanting to do one and make it my own...

images like this...but with people in them, are why I want this lens...I can't afford a 200 f/1.8 or f/2...and I bet that the 70-200 at f/2.8 doesn't have the same rendering as this...I need to give it a test the next time I am out and find a scene like this, see what it can do to replicate this...or the budget 200 might have to find its way home...thanks for posting that.

What are your impressions of working with that lens adapted?

in dim conditions tend to hunt, but that's on not so fast A7 II
AF , rendering, bokeh, sharpness and overall performance are OK
I re bought it, as loved when was using it on Canon. I never had an 2.8/70-200, but wen rented, mostly used @200mm, and fixed focal 200mm is lighter, not white (so less attracting) and I would say also a tad sharper then 1st series zoom
I hope to test on some portraits soon

It has not been my experience that the locking requires gravity. I routinely use it so that the camera has to be released by pressing the button and pulling it down towards the ground, been doing that for years and it has never failed me. I do that so that I can release it and get the camera with 1 hand.
