Who says girls lacrosse isn't a contact sport?

Nice timing on the capture. I have never understood why the girls only get those little eye protectors while the boys have to wear full helmets and face shields.

Trever Canon 7D, 24-70 F2.8L ii, Sigma 10-20 1:4-5.6 DC HSM, and a bunch of other little stuff to make light sorta work. Deviant (external link)

The rules concerning contact are much different in the women's game than the men's. You may notice that not only the helmet and facial protection is different, but the men wear shoulder pads, elbow guards and full on hockey gloves as they are allowed to use the stick much more aggressively and more body contact is allowed.
That shot is my daughter getting the pop to the face. It looks a lot worse than it was. The defender was in a typical defense position vs an attacking player and my daughter basically ran into her. She didn't actually punch outwards with her hands and stick. That would have been a penalty. We didn't even realize it happened and my daughter didn't even remember it happening. I only caught it as I was editing the pics I took at the game. She thought it was funny when I showed her!

The 'Stitches' sign in the background is a nice touch. One of them may well have needed some after their little spat.

Processing on these is pretty well over the top........certainly for me.

Makes it tough to see what's going on.
