Hi,

I have been very busy over the past year or so, so I have not had much time to take photos or come online. Anyway, I have a Newtonian telescope (150mm) under a skylight which looks out onto a street light. I have a modified Canon 1000D which I attached to a cheapish UHC filter and telescope.

Unfortunately, the days are getting longer and the nights are short. I have a very limited view of the night sky looking towards the south. Anyway, I can see the stars that surround IC 405 during the early evening just shortly after sunset, but it goes out of view before 2 hours after sunset. I had to use 2 minute exposures and had to remove the exposures where the stars became elongated. Sometimes they become elongated, otherwise they are fine. I have 8 lights, 9 darks and 20 flats.

This is the result:

Unfortunately, the moon will be right above this area tomorrow and I think the sunset will be too late afterwards. So, this was my last chance to photograph a nebula before the winter skies return. I can only point towards the south at high angles.

Thanks for looking.
