HSS. It helped lower the light. I think I answered on IG but wanted to answer here too. ND filters used to make it hard for me to see the expression on the subject and that's something I didn't like at all.

No problem! That was my first time doing the HSS trick to go lower. Previously used TTL but it's a little inaccurate so I'd rather shoot HSS manually.

Here is a recent portrait I took in the middle of the day using my 60" Octabox to block the sun and was able to balance the light on the wall pretty good. I appreciate any feedback, critique or advice you have to help improve my portraits.
