I think I'm the only person on planet earth that would love to see an a6700....for a reasonable price of course.

I'm not giving up my 1dx for sports but I thought I would bring the a6500 along. I remember when I had the a6000 and it seemed it focused faster, maybe its just me. Anyway I took a Sony SEL50, FE85, and a Canon 24-70L II with a Sigma MC-11. Believe it or not, the camera did better with the Canon lens then the Sony native ones. It can't keep up compared to the 1dx but I was surprised at the number of keepers I got use the Canon glass.

They’ll probably sell a ton of these to wedding shooters who want better operational speed than the older Mark II bodies, dual cards, 24mp, and don’t need the crazy FPS or buffer of the a9 and don’t need the pixel shift and 42mp of the a7rIII.

I'm ready for winter to be over. Winter in Texas means it's cloudy as hell and rains everyday. My photography MOJO is dead because everyday is so ugly.

Excuses I know....

When the outside weather has you down. Go and shoot inside! (These are both screen grabs from undedited RAW files from this past weekend so I apologize about the quality).

I imagine R3 and A9 owners will get a big hit on prices if the price point is true.

Z battery, fast operation, joystick, on top of existing A7ii, is a darn compelling package. Throw in 7fps silent and mechanical, 4K, eye tracking the R3 and A9 not so hot anymore :-P

You guys laugh st the eos M50 and t7 now, but Canon will sell a ton of these at Costco on black Friday, and in throwaway Amazon bundles with lens filters that don't fit. Sony might have all the fanciest tech, but Canon will continue to assert their dominance in the industry by winning the #I bought a "professional" camera but gave up because photography is hard so I'll use my smartphone instead market.

I think Canon is coming for the crown on innovation once again. Look at that automated flash they just released. First of it's kind but no one is talking about it due to either the excitement or hate on the M50. I think the M50 is a sign of things to come, and I'm definitely not laughing at it. People are acting like it's a flagship or something, when Canon has been very specific saying it's more entry level than the M6. I think the next 5D model will have that flip out screen, and (heaven forbid!) even the next 1DX may have it. Wasn't there also something a year or more ago about Canon possibly releasing a full frame mirrorless in 2018? Only issue they will have is a whole new mount. They have hardly any lenses for the M mount. Sony got all that flack for not having many lenses, but they're now years ahead of anyone else.

Soon I think it will be a Canon and Sony world, with Fuji taking Nikon's place if they ever make full frame (or everyone might just move to medium format). Nikon's video AF is still god-awful on the D850, and they have not a single legitimate mirrorless camera. Sure they're out there making the best DSLR on the planet (minus the video AF), but the days of the mirror are numbered.

EDIT: I'm not laughing at the M50 but I am laughing at the plastic lens mount on that DSLR they released lol.

You obviously haven't visited the a6500 page on FB then. That's all they talk about. Pretty annoying haha.

Looks like it might be a nice backup for my a9. I honestly don't have that much use for my a6500 except for the fact that it has a mic input for vlogging. Besides that it falls into a weird gray area. My a9 is small enough as a travel camera with small lenses, and my RX100V has better video features than both the a9 and a6500. So I end up using the a6500 not so much unless I need a bit of extra crop factor reach.

If a7 III has much better AF than a7R II then it could be the second camera solution I’m looking for.

I’d love an a9, but an a7 II is more practical for my limited needs.

The pending release of the Sigma 105/1.4 has me thinking of coming back to e-mount. Can we assume it will start at $1300 or so?

With the a7rii going for $1800ish new via some vendors, the price:performance ratio is pretty excellent as well.

I wonder what the difference in weight/footprint will be between a99ii/135ZA vs a7rii/105A will be?

The a99ii is still treating me well, but the grass is always greener.

I doubt the 105 f1.4 will be better than the 135 f1.8 A mount that you've already got. But of course the rumors have been swirling around a 135 f1.8 Sony E mount lens
