Agree...that’s how I do it. I also like to add the ole BFT for a little more control. Still pretty straight forward.

Man we're driving out there in two weeks and for what we paid for the trip I could buy ALOT of gear.....

Carlo, not sure where you are staying but we hooked up with a suite via Flipkey last year for like $125 per day in the offseason (Sep)--Wyndham Bonnet Creek. Place had several pools with water features, full kitchen in the suite, and it is on the bus route. You are probably already hooked up with a room, but I can't recommend this route enough.

I'm looking forward to seeing your Disney pics again this year!

I'm going to call the lens Mjolnir. Only those who are worthy can wield it :-)

The name will likely be changed to Andúril once the testing begins, super heavy but razor sharp.

Wow, 1645grams for the Sigma 105, definitely a beast of a lens. Weighs more than the 70-200mm f/2.8 which is 1480. Shorter as well which means it’ll be even denser.

Filter size is 105mm, wow, that's huge.

Edit: While the Nikon version is only 82mm, wow

David, are you considering the a7III for your street work? 10FPS silent shutter mode...nice and stealthy. Still missing a small 35 f2 lens with AF though!

Not sure if anyone’s mentioned it but rokinon/samyang makes a 35 f2.8 pancake for a solid price. $299 new on amazon.

in one of the photos the clouds moved enough that i think it's a separate exposure. In any case if he does do it in 1 exposure then good for him. i think whats important is that last piece you wrote. if he is doing good and his clients love his work i dont think they care how he made his hero shot.

for us photographers though, its fun to talk about the process. heres my take - it isnt impossible to use 1 exposure especially if you have a camera like the sony full frames that have great dynamic range - my question would be how efficient would it be to complete a project? will it be faster using 1 exposure and then using raw conversion to create copies that get back the highlights and recover the shadows and then blend them? or is it more efficient to use 1 exposure and use tons of layers and curves and masks to get real control? or is it better to use multiple exposures and then blend them via luminosity?

what gets the image done faster for me would be better so i can go and process more projects or get more shooting done

the 35L mkii sale was a traumatic experience for me..

truth is.. THE BEST canon lens I've owned ..possibly better than the 24-70 mkii that i owned (and sold).

i'm hurting over this lens .. one of only a handful of lenses I've hurt over..

look .. this is me looking melancholy after the sale...

:-(

Nice job snagging a Batis 135 at that price.

That's why i asked and would like to hear from you guys here because if we can do it in 1 exposure like he said, then it's very cool. less equipments to bring, less hassle, faster turnaround, faster $$$

i saw tutorial on making HDR using one raw. Out of that one raw, you export multiple files in DNG format in different exposures. and then process it in any HDR program.
