I hope I can get my sleep issues sorted out by then! Things have been steadily improving, but I still have far too many days where I can’t fall asleep before 4AM or get a solid 7-8 hours. Can’t figure it out because my stress levels are as low as they’ve ever been in my adult life.
Gorgeous image with an epic sky!
Insomnia sucks. I have a buddy that's a sleep specialist MD. I have no idea what your routine is but he tells me 99% of routine insomnia is secondary to poor sleep hygiene. I totally agree with Charlie with regards to increasing exercise. Getting yourself physically worn out is a great first step. Second.....Turn off the computers/screens a couple hours before bed. As you are surely aware, the screen will stimulate brain activity preventing it from mellowing out when you are trying to fall asleep. Not preaching at all....just tossing it out there for sake of discussion this morning while perusing the lounge thread.

Take up running

I run like mad these days, 3-5 miles, and scale parking structures at the nearest community college. My sleep schedule is screwed up due to my kids, but hard exercise has fixed me up, along with other health issues magically disappearing. It’s difficult, but baby steps can get you going. I started by running a few laps around my block, then it morphed.
I can set simple goals, pick up blueberries for my wife, and run to the store, and back home. Sometimes small goals are easier to accomplish, like running to a distant landmark.
Good exercise has changed my life. Occasionally I can sleep till morning without interruptions, pretty unusual
Good for you Charlie! I have always been very physically active. I mentioned a couple months ago that I had become pretty lazy in fall of 2017. I got 15lbs heavier than I have ever been. I felt terrible. I dropped starchy carbs and snacking in the evening (I've always been able to get away with that and remain very thin) and dusted off the ole weight set. I'm now back down to my normal weight and feel great. While the skiing has been good, I can't wait till spring!

Anyone have any big trips planned this year? Anyone attending a workshop? I’m taking my family down to South Padre Island at the end of March. I’ve never been so I’m excited to shoot some seascapes.
I never do any big traveling that requires buying airline tix for the fam but we get out a lot. Typically limited to the intermountain American west....could be worse! We are heading to Moab, UT in a few weeks for the first trip of the year. I hope to get some nice shots but, as always, it'll be a bit of a family trip and I'll be trying to get some mountain biking in each day. I will take the gear. I hope to at least get some nice portraits in the red rock. I just sprung for the AD200 and would like to put it to use!
