Hi all, I don’t do video as a general rule but am looking for an external mic for the 1DX2. Cheaper the better, but looking to video some V8 landrovers Hill climbing and want to capture the sound well without all the wind noise etc

Any recommendations welcome! Cheers

I've not used it myself, but a lot of people I know swear by the Rode VideoMicro (external link). There are various models at different price points.

I use this with my 1DX MKii for car races and airplanes and it has not distorted at all. It has switchable 10 and 20 db pads built in.
