Would be cool if you could isolate that one oak tree and use the two diagonals (above n below) to house it... did you take more shots of this?

This astronomical effect is known as "the old moon in the new moon's arms". Nice capture, but there appears to be a bit of keystoning happening which you could adjust in post. It happens when you need to raise the lens above horizontal to capture the scene, then the buildings appear to lean backwards, but there are a few tools in something like PS to correct that. Other than that, a lovely image!

I'm not much of a landscape photographer (yet), but my wife and I hiked Kaaterskill Falls in Upstate New York ... thought I'd share.

There's a saying, an astronomer is someone who walks outside at night and looks up. Similarly, a landscape photographer is someone who points a lens at a landscape and triggers the shutter button. Both are nice images but I think the vertical composition is better.

Taken at Tunnel View in Yosemite on Friday, February 23rd. The light breaking through clouds lit up this peak in a pleasing way.

In stark contrast to the above, I was in Hartlepool today (just up the road) and there was hardly any snow to be seen. A nice Winters day on the beach. The sand is almost black due to coal deposits washed up by the tide:
