I have the LG G4 and use it as my pocketcamera, it's quite nice and useful. It did replace my 'old' Sony RX100 Mark III. Although it lacks zoom and it has a fixed aperture it's still good enough for 80% of my random shots with it.

Here's a gallery with some shots i've taken with the G4, most in RAW and some in JPEG. All postprocessed in one way or another.

Stunning photos! It really looks like the G4 is living up to it's hype. Probably not a CSC killer, but definitely a valid alternative!

I'm on an LG phone right now and I would never get one again, they make it super difficult to unlock the bootloader and root the phones. Where as others like HTC hand you everything on a silver platter.

Android is linux based so it should still have the spirit of open source but LG kills that.

Yes from a complete smartphone software control perspective, I get that. But from a straight-out-of-box camera-ready experience for those of us who don't really care to root or tinker beyond oem limits, the G4 is impressive. I find the near vanilla android experience on the G4 quite pleasant. The removable battery and expandable SD up to a ridiculous 2TB is awesome considering a lot of oems are doing away with that. What kills it for me is the size and sharp corners that dig into my palm.

I like the way the industry of camera+smartphone is headed.

I love my G3. I'm not much into cell phone photography, but it does fine in a pinch if I don't have my DSLR with me.

Beautiful shots!

I agree, I've been pretty impressed by my G3 as well, and I'm sure the G4 is even better. Took this one yesterday with my G3 (because the EOS M around her neck had a dead battery).

any new thoughts by users of this phone. Im currently using an asus zenfone 2 which runs just fine and does what I need it to but the camera is terrible. So the only thing im really looking at upgrading is the camera. Im buying unsubsidized so im not going to pay dbl the price for a galaxy s6 or other top end phones and the price of the lg g4 is very reasonable, nearly half of iphone6s, galaxys6 and sony z5.

The Lumia 1020 definitely looks better. If I were a windows phone user, I would have been all over that phone.

Lumia will look better for quite some time to come because it still features the largest sensor ever seen in any mobile phone device. Not even Apple's overhyped devices comes close to how well the Lumia 1020 still performs today.

I always liked the G4 camera... just couldn't stand the Bootloop I ended up with. Thankfully, had T-Mobile replaced it for free, and ended up giving the replacement to my son (I now use the Google Pixel).

I will post photos here shortly. Still a great camera though!

Here is a shot I did with the G4 awhile back. Thought it came out pretty decent, actually.
