Looking back through some old photos of the kids as I still have to pick 'a few' out to hang in the house. I haven't hung any photos up yet, though there are some arty ones of mine resting against the walls, anyway, found this one of the Boy scoring the winning shot on the air hockey table.
It was from July 2015 on the X-E2. That was my third Fuji X camera (had the X-E1 before it and the X-T1 also). I was still shooting my 5D3 and L and Art lenses at the time so it is interesting to re-look at the images to see if I could tell the difference...

Hi Kim.
I am planning to move on from my Canon 60D to the Fuji universe.
I have been loosing so many good photography fun the last years. Travelling on holidays mostly using budget flight companies makes lugging a big photo gear a struggle, let alone the eternal wife complains, hehe.
For this reason, I am focusing my game on the X-T20 to start with, and maybe moving later to the X-T3.
My question is: how far this picture is from the SOOC version? I feel comfortable with LR, I never shoot JPG with Canon, as I am never happy with the 60D SOOC results.
As far as I can see from my initial research, JPG in the Fuji universe are in another IQ league, so I would like to keep it simple now.

New Fuji gear is leaps and bounds improved in iq and high iso performance than the 60 d sensor performance.

I had a gripped Canon 5D Mark II, 17-40L, 50L, 24-70L... moved to Fuji because I wanted something smaller and lighter..

Now my bag has an X-Pro 2, 23/1.4, 35/2, 56/1.2, and 50-140 (with an XT-1 that sadly collects dust on the shelf)... where did I go wrong? :-P

Sure. I could carry on using Canon and upgrade to the 80D and be lugging a big body again.
Or downsize my gear to the M5 and start to use adaptors due to the lack of native mirrorless lenses.
And also start to accept the JPEG Canon IQ.
Either way, my guts says that to move on to Fuji is the best compromise.

SOOC JPEGs from the Fuji are way above the rest as far as I'm concerned, You can tailor the settings for shadow and highlights etc... and see the results in the viewfinder before you shoot - that it awesome.

As far as my shot it’s far removed from the settings I have in the camera, I set them flat for JPEG as I normally tweek the raws anyway unlessI know I'm going to deliver JPEGs for speed or whatever, then I dial in the settings just before the shoot so the mood is right for the time, if you know what I mean.

Raw unprocessed

Impressive raw quality. I am counting on EVF capabilities and maybe also in-camera RAW conversion to give LR process some rest.
