I love this lens so much I'm selling it. (To get the second generation with its incremental improvements.) Imagine my glee as a new birder in finding that this new selection of budget-minded 600mm beasts from Tamron and Sigma was available. It's been huge fun after struggling with my 70-200L for a year, cropping like a lumberjack. If Tamron hadn't come out with an even better lens I'd keep it for the long term, but I found a great local deal on a G2 I couldn't pass up.
9/10. I'm the second owner of this one, but it was virtually new when I bought it. It has performed perfectly and is still in near perfect condition. No visible damage. Never been dropped (I'm a compulsive strapper.) I've had a camo material on the hood since early, so it's in great shape.
Minor small dust inside the primary element, which is unavoidable with a non-sealed lens. It doesn't impact the photos. I don't use UV filters, but the hood is always on. No scratches or scuffs in the glass.
The rubber zoom grip is slightly loose. It isn't a problem when shooting but may bug some folks from an aesthetic perspective. Replacements are available cheap. Tiny paint nick on the corner of the tripod mount bracket. See photos.
Sale includes lens, tripod mount, original packaging, hood, caps, printed manual.
