Vinz I guess I'm one who doesn't mind Lanier, but that vid lead to Toni and Chelsie and I thought I was watching the Kardashians do a camera review. Of that genre I like the goober from The Camera Store or Max Yureiev (sp?), they seem more common man.

I don’t mind Lanier either. He wears a fedora and that makes him appear flamboyantly obnoxious, but he consistently comes across to me as genuinely nice in the videos. I don’t mind really confident people (I’m not one though), so long as they don’t appear arrogant.

The Angry Photographer, now that guy is the most awful arrogant gear reviewer on the Internet. Total garbage imo.

Thanks for the insights Robert. Wow, a9 seems awesome!

I think I screwed up my question. I was wanting to know if the EVF in the a9 AND a7R III is a lot better than what I’m used to in the a7R II. The a7 III does not have the upgraded EVF and I’m trying to decide if that’s a big deal.

FE 55 gives me problems trying to MF with the A7r2, piece of cake with the R3. Much different EVF. FBW in general is totally a piece of cake now.

The clarity and sensitivity of peaking, a whole different level

I put a 12mm Touit on the Rii.
A 85/1.8 on the a9.
A 55/1.8 on the Riii.
Set everything same then hopped back and forth.
EVF a9 and Riii equal, this just looking through the screen
Rii is behind.
Subjective as hell :)

I don't like Jason either. I just look at the AF on canon lenses. and yah Toni and Chelsie next. I like the camera store reviews best. they're not bias at all.

Jason lacks the word "please" to his models and i hate it. I think it's not in his vocabularies.

On the Florida trip I was getting ready to head to the bathhouse and glanced over onto my towel. Had
the RX10iv handy....first 'macro' with it-

so i told the Boss i'd take her to see "Red sparrow" Tuesday (tomorrow) .. this promise was made a week ago .. she's excited...

But my 85 GM got held up i suppose due to the fact that i ordered day before a jewish holiday i didn't know existed.. and possibly weather (we had strong storms that left many areas without power).. normally i get things at most 2 days from ordering .. its been more than that .. but like i said cirmcumstances delayed shipment/delivery ( i assume that's the reason)

in cany Case its supposed to arrive tomorrow .. Tuesday..

odds are .. ill be at the movies .. in which case they'll leave it at the closest ups pick up location.. but from past experience they don't get it till late and don't log it in (so they cant give it out ) till the next day .. but they don't open till about noon:-(

 why is life so difficult..

while at the theaters

'hunni i gotta use the men's room'

wife: what took so long?

must have been something i had for lunch today...

done !

Charlie speaking of. I have one of those el cheapy 7 Artisans and MF on the Riii is a pleasure with it. I was intending to do Milky Way with the Riii and the Laowa 15/2 but I still
think that the a9 will be a better sensor for the Milky Way.

a9 and/or a7R III owners:

How much better is that EVF? Does it make a difference. Does it significantly improve your shooting experience?

I have to confess that I don’t have even the faintest idea how “pretty girl” photographers like you or Jason do what you do. It’s a total mystery to me. Are the girls paying you to photograph them? Do you sell the photographs to an agency?

I’m afraid I’m not outgoing enough to ever be comfortable shooting portraits (giving posing commands), but I’m really interested in at least have some understanding of it. I’ve been a bit embarrassed (by my ignorance) to even ask, but what the heck..... :)

You are not alone David. I see people posting a constant stream of beautiful models and don’t have the foggiest how that all works and where they all come from (not that I want to shoot that but curious about it all too)

YES!! VERY excited for you. :)

One thing I’m wondering is if the refresh rate is a lot faster in the a9/a7R III EVF vs the a7R II EVF. Didn’t notice anyone commenting on that aspect of the EVF.

I’m curious about this too. I do feel the limitations on the a7rii viewfinder at times when trying to set critical focus on my landscape manual focus lenses so interested to see what all the fuss is about. Aging eyes don’t help

Yes way way faster than the Rii. I can easily do BIF with the Riii, with the Rii it was a major pain, not even enjoyable. With the Riii I can BIF and enjoy knowing I've
got the cropabilty. That said it seems slow compared to the a9 because even at 8fps compared to the a9 the blackout is there.
