I was trying to avoid the manual route if possible. In my 2017 folder I have 4581 photos spread over potentially 365 days. I also want to do this for my 2011-2016 folders too

maybe not what you want to hear, but I'de move current 2011-2017 folders into an archive location via LR.

Make a copy of all files in an unknown area or spare drive outside of LR.

Import all over again from spare drive with new scheme. You'll lose all the settings in your new spot, but you have the archive if you need to revisit. I think I would go this route as soon as I printed all the stuff I wanted. I'de get rid of all the raws in the archive location unless I needed to work on something again, which is pretty rare. In that scenario, I'de simply copy the image over from the new location to the old.

I was caught in a similar scenario with my move to C1, I was missing a few years of data for some reason, so I had to re-import missing years. Lost all my changes, but wasnt really a big deal since I already printed, and already have processed jpegs. Should I need to redo something, I'll do on the fly.

Normally, I'd choose the color version and I like the minimal color in the image but...it almost looks like CA around the leaves since I see it around the window latch too I believe. Have you used lens distortion correction in software by chance?

Yes i did , but it made very little difference i adjusted the purple manually in the corrections part in LR .. that helped some , but i couldn't get the other CA colors to go away.. i know this is typical for Fast glass.. but aside from that fixing CA is something I've never learned aside from some auto LR methods..

i should learn it now that i have this lens...this way i wont be forced to turn everything to B&W ;-)a

looks like the Sigma 135mm F1.8 is going to replace my 85GM. it's listed now for $1399. same as the price of the 135art but without buying the mc-11

i don't care about the size. the thing though is Sony might surprise us with a 135F1.8 G. is there an update lens roadmap for FE lenses?

consider trying GT, saved at least $100 when I got the canon version. Hope it doesnt cost too much for the conversion.

hey guys - looking for a quick thought on some filters i am looking to buy. I need to buy a new ND filter for my 16-35 as i am currently using a cheaper variable ND filter and can't stand the results it gives. I am looking at the HOYA Pro ND64 6 stop and 10 stop ND filters. First off, do you prefer having a 6 or 10 in your bag? I would love to buy both, but $200 in filters right now isn't gonna happen with how much i've dropped into my sports car recently lol.

Also, i was looking at the HOYA Pro1 MC Polarizer - anyone have it and like it? Seems like it is in the middle of all of their polarizing filters

Maybe adding a homing beacon to all drones would help after all it’s a huge loss?

There's an option now, "find my drone". Not sure how well it works but I hope I never have to find out.

Go for Format Hitech firecrest or Breakthrough filter.

there are some inexpensive ND's that work well. 6 > 3 > 10, that's how I like my filters.

from what I recall, ICE makes good inexpensive ND filters, likely as good as LEE/HAIDA and company

3 piece set: https://www.amazon.com …ords=ICE+6+stop+nd+filter (external link)

$58, everything you can ask for.

Speaking of ND's.. Can anyone recommend a decent, but not crazy expensive variable ND? Need it for video so I can keep my SS down in sunlight

The Female Sat for a portrait for a second...effectively 640mm, 2x on the 70-200 and crop mode on with the a9. No crop.

And we had a Yellow Belly Sapsucker, who has been attacking all the trees...every shot I got of him, he was at his rows of holes in the trees...never had any idea...

I use Tiffen variable NDs...very happy with them. A bit of a magenta cast to correct if used at their darkest limits.

I just happened to be making a slide about this very issue for a presentation tomorrow night...

That is 100% avoidable. Just got to watch what is going on on the screen. The wider the lens the less usable variability is possible.
