yeah understood, thats good thing about grey market stuff but it does put off a lot of people. I had to send my 1DX into cannon and they repaired it free so I don't have an issue buying from them, but I did buy my 1DXII from Calumet.

Well, my 1D X Mark ll showed up Wednesday.... right before work. I guess I showed up, actually, since I had it held for me at the local UPS depot.

I set it up after work and have things the way I think I want them, subject to change, of course. My L bracket and CFast card w/reader won't show up until Friday. I reread this whole thread, beginning until end, but not before I ordered the Lexar 128GB 3600 card. There were some who had problems with this card so I'm hoping I won't have any issues. In hindsight, I would have ordered the 3500 had I known the 3600 could be problematic.

Anyway, with that little bit of doubt in my mind, I'm looking forward to putting it through its paces this weekend if all the packages beat the snow up North and make it here to Florida.

I've been dreaming about this camera for a while now, though I've gotten some great shots with my 1D IV. Based on the experience of those in this thread along with a few other lens threads, I think I'll be pleased with its performance.... as long as I can do my part, of course.

I'm hoping it's worth the money..... I read about it extensively before I hit "enter". The 1D X would have been better than my 1D IV, but I talked to several people in the field and they said they weren't overwhelmed with the differences. Then came the 1D X 2... I started drooling two years ago and finally said..... why the heck not?

We'll see.

I upgraded from a 7D2, and the 1DX2 very much exceeded my expectations. I'll be very interested to hear your thoughts coming from the 1D IV.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.
