I think this is what you are looking for:

Thanks. I have seen these, but I was wondering if there's even simpler receiver. They seem to make them for speedlights.

Nope, that's the dirt simple item right there. Comes with cords to connect to 3.5mm jacks (or 2.5?) and what not. Designed to trigger flashes on the hotshoe, but also capable of triggering strobes and what not through cable connections.

Is there an affordable Godox receiver / transceiver that could be used with the R2 system using non-Godox lights? I have the XPro trigger that I use with AD600, but my other strobes are different brand and sometimes I want to add more lights to a setup.

I can pop a Paul C Buff CyberSync transmitter into the hotshoe of that aforementioned Godox receiver and fire multiple Buff lights along with Godox lights, using the XPro as the single transmitter. And still use the CyberCommander to control the power of the Buff lights.

I use one to trigger my old mettle 600 strobe.

I use a velcro strap with a cold shoe mounted. Here is a photo I took for another thread. The cord comes with the receiver. It has a 3.5mm connector with an adapter for 1/4".

Anyone having magenta color cast on their Good AD600B? Is this a known issue or a defect?

No Mag. tint on my copy. I also calibrate with a Color Passport, the WB numbers are pretty much where they should be.

Have you tried a different modifier?

A magenta cast is odd. I can't even think of an error or problem with lights or modifiers that would throw a magenta cast. They don't usually go bad in that direction.

What trigger and what setting are you using the 600B? HSS?

There is a warmer tone in HSS, is that what you mean?

I’ve got one, though it’s less body cap and more bulb protection

I'm looking for something that would be flat, like a camera body cap, so it won't take up more space in the bag or case.

Hi all,

I'm interested in buying either 2x ad200 with ad-b2 or one ad600 for outdoor portraits in bright light. I plan to get mid size softbox 38" round or 31x31" square.

I have found many useful comparisons on youtube/blogs/forums. I have a list of those and my summaries here:
https://docs.google.com …Jv56SHI/edit?usp=drivesdk (external link)

I see advantages of ad600:
- a bit higher power.
- ability to have light H600B head on stand while more weight is at the bottom.

Advantages of 2x ad600 + ad-b2:
- can take only one so less weight when power is not needed.
- other ad200 can be used as kicker light when single ad200 suffices as key light in overcast weather.

I see that two options should be within 0.3 to 0.6 EV depending on modifier based on many comparisons on internet. 0.5EV means about 20% more subject distance from light with same exposure so it might not be that big deal.

But I don't know how they relate in HSS mode. HSS mode adds additional penalty compared to using ND filter. I have measured my flashes (sb600 and i40) and they had 1.7 and 1.4 EV penalty at 1/1 power measured by my Gossen flash meter (which is not designed for HSS but exposures corresponded to it or were slightly worse).

Can you compare how exposure of flash only lit subject decreses when going from 1/160 to 1/320 in terms of aperture or EV? At full power. I assume that once x-sync is crossed the exposure decrease is proportional to time decrease. I'm interested in both ad200 and ad600 so I'm asking same question in both threads.

Also, I have seen noted that x1t trigger switches to HSS when shutter is faster than 1/160s even on Nikon cameras that have 1/200 - 1/250 x-sync. Is that true or has been resolved by firmware updates?

Can modern transmitters x1t/xpro be configured for hypersync (not HSS)? I have read that Xt16 is needed for that.

Thank you in advance,
Jakub

So I have decided on ad600bm+h600b (against 2x ad200 + ad-b2). I have tested how happy I would be with 2.5kg on top of stand plus 1kg modifier and I felt remote head would be best for me (and I can get by with lighter stand so "bag" weight of ad600bm+h600b might be quite similar).
With deals available (ebay, no local deals), the price of kits including 2x ad200 + ad-b2 would be about 50% more than kit with ad600 (which also includes better modifier). I can do kicker light for overcast weather with small flash, I don't need second ad200 for it, at least I hope.

If anybody is interested in comparing ad200 and ad600, I have a lot of resources in shared spreadsheet: https://docs.google.com …YnQr0CqJv56SHI/edit#gid=0 (external link)
