I asked Miguel A about the weather sealing and here's his answer.

Great to see but I take that with a grain of salt. I wouldn't expect him to say anything else since he's affiliated with Sony.

Don't know if anyone remembers awhile ago when I said Sony was not publicly marketing using adapters, but they basically were through Jason Lanier. Well, I believe this video tells us exactly what Sony's intentions and strategy were releasing the A7iii at such a low price for a feature rich camera. Apologize if this has already been shared. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfFxbFJ9jdM (external link)

yep...pretty clear that they are after those that don't want to buy all new lenses...

I haven't updated the firmware on my MC-11 since I got it, over a year. It's been working just fine with all my lenses and I've heard so many horror stories with other products that it has made me reluctant to try. Maybe I should give it a go.

Lol I'll be the guinea pig. I'll let you guys know how it works out. Looks promising so far.

Wow! How good is eye af on the a7riii!! Was trying it out there on the kids and it locks almost instantly. Got loads of keepers with ease. I would miss loads of shots on the a7rii in that scenario as it struggles to lock at times or it locks and then loses it. I’m seriously impressed

I'm getting the feeling the 85 gm isnt for me..

Took to work with me today.. just doing random shots ..
The AF is just too sluggish. .. and I thought the 90mac was a slow focused

I figured it wouldn't be a quick at AF lens.. just didn't think it would be this slow..
I know it's going to be great for portraits.. for posed pics this is great ..but I don't do enough portraits to justify to myself having to much money tied up in one lens, that only gets used for one thing and if it were that i had portrait sessions almost every weekend that would be different ..
It produces lovely images though so of course that makes me want to keep it , love the aperture ring..

Will test for another couple of days

Check out the Batis 85 or the FE85. They will focus faster. I love my B85

Carlo, I tried turning my little arm into a shoulder rig.... works great for video. Simply pull into your shoulder with both arms, and it's very stable for walking speeds, will probably keep the gimbal when I want to run with my kids.

this thing will be great for incidental video as it takes up very little space. Only think I wish it had would be a quick connect arca plate. I can get this done, but not sure if I'm going to put in the effort yet as the phone attachment would be need a bottom plate too. Will use it a bit more before making the decision.

What are you using as the body again? I don't remember it being super sluggish...if you want faster AF, the Batis 85 is much faster from what I have read, and I really nearly went that route to save the extra $900...but I wanted that f/1.4.

I have a7r3.

To me with the way this focuses , shooting an event would be frustrating.. with very little keepers ..
Like I said posed would be fine ..
It will focus .. just does a check evem after I get the green confirm
So for a second i think im good but then goes out of focus and refocuses..so I need to wait for the second confirmation beep.(greenlight)

It does this atleast half the time .. unless I go smaller aperture
