If I had the fullsize RAW I might be able to spot my old home in Encinitas. Man I miss that place, I think I do spot Swami's, but hard to tell exactly. I can't believe that was over a decade ago that I lived there. Perfectly weather every day except for the May Gray, June Gloom, and a week or so when the Santa Ana's blow. I wish I had the cameras I have now when I lived there, because it's such a beautiful place, not just the beaches, but driving inland towards Ramona and other places in eastern SD County. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your kind words. I only had a few hours there since I was there for work, but I saw what I could in the time I had.

Ah. I just assumed you were local. A quick hike through Torrey Pines is a great way to spend your time there though. Just stay on the path if you go back, they're not joking. A friend of mine went off path there and got a huge fine and community service for it. If I remember correctly, that's one of only two places on Earth where those trees grow naturally. I really want to make a trip back to SD sometime in the not too distant future. Cheers!

We parked at Stoneman meadow and walked into Lower Pines Campground. From there we walked along the Merced. I tip toed across the rocks to the middle of the river (only about 6" deep) to get this picture of Liberty Cap above Clark Bridge.
