I'm a little off kilter with the new AMASS version. :p

It'll take a little getting used to again. It's all for the better. :)

Shampoo sounds like an unfortunate name for a hair product.
You're a ghost driving a meat-coated skeleton made from stardust, riding a rock, hurtling through space. Fear Nothing!

Sorry, I've been extremely busy with live wedding paintings and other things and on top of I got sick again!
But I have gone through some older shots that I either forgot about or simply missed.
Here are some shots from one of my latest threads when Nifty went out to a Japanese restaurant with me and saw some incredible digital art just around the corner.
So, a wall of screens that kept changing every minute or so with no information about the artwork.
I don't know what the green screens are about...I'll leave it up to your imagination.
The blue sky reminds me of Mary Poppins :)

I couldn't shoot both screens with Nifty and had to take 2 separate shots. Same location as the previous one.

You may have seen these before but I can assure you that these are completely new batches that I made for my friends. Sweet won-tons filled with Medjool dates, lychee, chopped pecans and grated lemon zest etc.
The other ones are savory and are filled with ground pork, spinach, garlic etc. Both were extremely delicious.

A wedding venue called Fort Worth Club 12th Floorhttp://www.fortworthclub.com/ (external link), quite dated but very opulent. I painted there last Saturday.
The panorama consists of 2 vertical shots and faces the opposite direction of what I was painting.
The second shot is my painting of the couple's first dance. I have more reference shots but unfortunately Nifty wasn't good enough for the job.

It's been rather stormy here this week. The creek behind the house is way up. The recent winds have knocked down a bunch of the smaller trees that were weighed down with rain soaked moss. Everything is a green soggy mess right now.

Bailey and Enzo are not happy that I covered their sandbox.

I have a couple of outings planned over the next few days...if the weather cooperates.

We had a short break in the weather yesterday so Nifty and I went to Jack London's Beauty Ranch. It's a little over 4 miles as the crow flies from my place. If you prefer to hike, it's about 8 miles over the top of Sonoma Mountain, or you can drive 11 miles.

Hiking is my preferred method of getting there, but we were short on time and the weather was deteriorating, so we drove this time.

It's part of the Bay Area Ridge Trial and the park offers more than 29 miles of fire roads and trails through redwood forests, oak woodlands, and grassy meadows. Elevations in the park range from 400 to 2300 feet ASL.

During warmer weather one frequently encounters the "local denizens."

Beauty Ranch was envisioned as a model farm:

Jack London experimented with growing cacti for feed, eucalyptus trees for firewood, and wine grapes.

The some of the old winery walls are still standing.

Most of the interior walls are either gone or just barely standing.

The Museum was closed. We didn't have time to hike over to the Wolf House ruins, the silos, and the Pig Palace. Maybe next time.

Most of us remember Jack London as a famous author, not a rancher or winemaker.

After Wolf House burned down in 1913, Jack and his wife Charmian lived in the Cottage near the Old Winery.

Everything looks great Renata and Tim. I have been so busy with work lately and haven't had much free time. But after a year and a half of hosting Nifty he has finally moved on..... returning to the west coast in into the capable and caring hands of Kasrielle. Joanne it is time to update the list. It was fun hosting and it I went out to shoot more because of Nifty.

The offices where Jack London created stories and novels, wrote personal correspondence, and conducted ranch business.

London's sleeping and other work area. He used a clothesline with notes as he created his stories.

Jack enjoyed practical jokes. Note the rope tied to the near bedpost. A few years after the 1906 earthquake that destroyed San Francisco and nearby Santa Rosa, he rigged up some pulleys and ropes and in the middle of the night would yell "Earthquake!" while the bed was pulled back and forth across the room.

Charmian and Jack slept separately because Jack like to work late and then was up at 5 a.m. again writing before she and their guests woke up. This is her bedroom with the window seat Jack built for her.

Charmian had 27 different colored pairs of slippers.

That ends our tour of Jack London's Beauty Ranch for now. If you're in the Sonoma Wine Country, it's a great place to visit. If you ask the guides, they have discount tasting passes for a nearby winery.
