wow cool. Thanks for sharing.

Anytime

Many folks upset about losing smooth reflections, a similar in camera function. Phtotoshop stacking is extremely slow.

Agree, hopefully a similar SR app in one form or another will become available from someone for the A7rIII.

vinmunoz wrote in post #18586775 (external link)
yah. by just converting all those images as smart objects takes forever already. i think that technique is just handy when you forgot your ND filter.

That would be correct Vin, not a everyday occurrence for sure . Ex if your somewhere where you know you will not be returning, a travel destination for example, but really want to get a long exposure there, you might bite the bullet and go for the long drawn out workflow.

Its just a temporary work around till possibly a real SR app becomes available, short of using real filters.

yah i'm pretty sure it can be added with firmware update. even at least the intervalometer and SR App. We should make a petition.

so a freind of mine managed to get hold of the A7iii to test the low light milky way shots.

He has just sent me the raw files that he did the hack on to get into Lightroom. These are his photo's. https://www.facebook.com …hy/posts/2506521169572202 (external link) He did a direct comparison with his current A7Rii

Thank you David! Yes the flare was added in post. The shadows and the light on the building were in the raw file. I had positioned the real sun right behind the rusted metal accent wall to control the highlights. I still had to blend in a darker exposure for the sky. Then I added in my flare to the left of the metal wall and did some edits in color efex. I think it came out fairly convincing. I’ll add a disclaimer on my original post.

Playing around with the new ad200. Trying to work out the particulars with HSS and this flash. I've never used HSS cause of the loss of power. With the greater power from this unit I think there will be times that HSS will work just fine....particularly during golden hour and keeping SS's <1/2000.

Thanks Corey! The image felt a bit flat without this visible light source. I see this similar effect in many landscape images where photographers are adding a glow on the horizon. It’s eye catching I guess.

The flare looks very natural to me Alfredo. If you hadn't mentioned it, I would not have known it was added in post.

Alfredo, aren’t you putting together a flash kit? The ad200 is going to be fantastic......for off camera use. If I was putting together a kit from scratch and knew I was going to be mainly using flash off camera, I would forgo the V860II and just go straight to the ad200....at least to start.

Flare?
Flare I don't like is strange color blobs found seemingly random in the shot. I don't see that here.
If you're talking about the Sun wrapping around the 'convention center' sign, I actually think that looks look and adds to
the image.....versus when the color blobs happen drawing my eye=not here.

There is a forum at Sony support where (me) many have been openly complaining about it.
Brian Smith has sometime over the last week or two also mentioned/hinted at something.
I'd fear/hope I'm wrong it will be in the A7Riv, RX10v, A9r, etc.

I'd like to get a Milky .raw like that from anywhere here!
Speaking of ISO. I've been hoping back and forth between the A7Riii and a9 for 3 weeks now, using both or either daily. I've concluded with my amateur eye (for what I shoot) that the a9 is more capable than the Riii.....not that the A7Riii is a slouch and Gaab I know your talking about the A7iii but I just woke up and am rambling.
