Thank you, Will! I used to think that the Waxwings didn't have ANY texture in their feathers until I got a decent shot of one, they look 'so smooth' it's hard to tell until you see it up close. :)

Now THAT is a dressed up bird there!
The wood in the background adds a lot to it also, I usually don't want 'man-made' stuff in my shots, (it all depends on the bird, really) but this is a case that I like it quite a bit.
That's really a beautiful catch, you did good.

I have had several occasions that I was able to walk right up to a Waxwing, when they are eating it's hard to scare or distract them. :) At some point that will happen to you too, a lot of it is just plain ol' luck.
