Just got back from five days in Poland. Got close to 500 pictures to go through because I always had my camera (and mostly new 23mm) with me, even on a really rainy day in Krakow (with the 27mm pancake which fits in my coat pocket) where the camera took a fair bit of water from rain and puddle splashes. These cameras and lenses are great for travelling with. You can carry one around all day without really feeling inhibited. Slip a spare battery in a pocket and you'll be golden. Happy with my 23mm lens too.

My Wife and Daughter hiding from the snow storm. The boy and me running about in the snow, then he joined in the hiding too.

The boy being brave and, with a little bit of encouragement, following his sisters path through the stream, sorry raging river. :-P

It's just game-oldies.com, with a USB XBOX controller mapped with some software to work with flash in a web browser.

She's 4, so I don't put much into it yet. When she's older, we'll build an arcade with an joystick and big buttons to play with and do some old arcade games via emulation and go co-op (like the old Gauntlet!).

Your RetroPi looks good. I love how much stuff there is for the simple Pi and Arduino boards.

Very best,

Lol, thanks. I have been in denial for years now thinking the latest and greatest would propel my photography. The most important part for me at least is learning to see light and understanding its effect.

My answer to the question, when I have to stand up and talk photography to a group and I'm asking what is the most important gear you should have, is: a light switch. Usually meet with a less then enthusiastic response. I then ask them - you know the ones - to get ready to shoot and when they say they are I just turn off the lights. Works wonders.

Rantercsr, Just loving these recent images. It's not a competition, but you may very well be winning 2018 so far :)
... Unless MalVeauX opens up a big ol' can of "Smack Your Head with a Spatula", in which case, well, there's not much to do but take it.

Y'all are inspiring.

X-T1 on 6400ISO f/2 1/60 untouched Fuji raw file in Lightroom with all settings at zero. What was someone saying about high ISO and Fuji here? :p

I'm sitting low on my knees achieving different perspective.

This is where I love shooting with my X-t2 with 56mm. I do not even think about what camera I am using and shoot while i'm in the "zone".

The next photo below IS NOT A FUJI photo. I've often mentioned how I love my fuji 10-24mm but I will admit there there are some type so of photos that I CANNOT easily achieve from my Fuji with many fuij lenses.

Here's a photo of my common signature photos that I do when documenting car shows. This corvette gets the compliments of my sunflare that I easily incorporate with my Canon 5dmk3/mk4 w/ 16-35. The Fuji 10-24mm cannot achieve such a shot unless I shoot f/22 or possibly little wider in aperture.

OK OK I'm waiting ....who's gonna rib me talking about sunflares LOL!!!!! I'm curious how the Fuji 8-16mm gonna perform in my world of car documentation. I'm waiting to see how a G master 16-35 f/2.8 is gonna perform on my A7iii for this type of photo. I'll adapt my Canon lens to the sony first.

This is where I find many folks rigid in their preference to a single camera system. This corvette shot is one reason why I simply cannot let go my Canon gear. I see value in my different gear and specific reasons to use it. I'm exploring rather than assumed "G.A.S" This is where character of gear is also another collective effort in creating different looking images and how you obtain it.

My world changes from documenting cars to remote flash events photography. I dig my Fuji but I can't push myself to just on system....

I get what you're trying to say... but the first shot is a far better shot. Out of curiosity, did you have to push that second shot heavily in post? There seems to be a lot of color noise going on in the background cars (the van on the right particularly) and the colors and contrast in general seem very muted (perhaps that part was on purpose).
