A lot of wedding photographers will use various items to shoot through to give some creative light or 'special effect' to their photo. Things such as prisms, crystals, CDs, led lights etc

Show me what you use to shoot through and a sample of the photos you've made using these techniques.

Small LED lights that I carry in my camera bag. Background light was off camera flash firing thru a grid.

Most often I just shoot thru the candles/lights on the tables.

There are all kinds of things to shoot through: architectural features at venues, other wedding guests, wine/champagne glasses, trees/bushes, windows. Maybe you were talking specifically in terms of lighted subjects but I think there are a lot more options to consider than that! Explore and try things! Good luck!!
