Two owl day.

Found the Barred Owl pretty early in the morning. He was pretty cooperative. Later that morning just as I was getting ready to pack it in, a buddy called and told me about a Great Horned Owl nest with one owlet. The owlet stayed low in the nest and wasn't as cooperative as the Barred had been. Anyway, here they are..........

I thought I was going to get the shot of lifetime.... the grey blob in the foreground is an oblivious (or suicidal) field mouse that just happened along in front of me. The owl ignored it completely and the mouse eventually disappeared under the snow.

Yeah I watched 'em for just over 4 hours, finally got too cold and left.

Crappy non 4k video (Sold the MKIV), but they are good entertainment. 7dIII better have 4k or I'm out!
