Headed to Moab tomorrow. I'd like to think I'll get some nice shots but in reality its a family trip with emphasis on biking and hiking....none of which will be done at sunrise or sunset. I'm kinda considering making the pre-dawn trip to Mesa arch in canyonlands NP. I've never been there and I guess it's a quick walk to the arch. Who knows...I'll just be happy to be there! You folks will certainly have to endure some family pics if nothing else!

That is when you go for sunrise or sunset...no lost family time!

Good point! Only problem with sunrise is the several beers I'm likely to enjoy after riding the day before. Perhaps my focus will be on sunset golden hour.

Yep short walk and basically flat.

It was a bird nerd kind of day today at Brazos Bend State Park, 128GB...a9/70-200/2xTC...don't worry I won't post them all...

Hehe I live right near there. It is a really cool place to shoot wildlife. Lots of gators there too.

You are too kind, no need to sugar coat for me. I know it could be way better but honestly I had
more fun watching the photographers arriving and jockeying for position

Remember my recommendation of the RX10iv for someone who might want to dabble in wildlife/BIF before adding
a dedicated wildlife/BIF rig?
Here is example of where I think the RX10iv got the shot but I probably would not have been fast enough on the draw
with the a9+100400 due to weight.
I still wasn't quite fast enough for perfectly square up with the bierd but close enough for me to appreciate the
RX10iv's AF-

Wow, I love the perfect exposure, the colors, and the details in the wings MM, great image!

Mesa Arch at sunrise is pretty magical! Get there early to beat the crowd for a spot to shoot!

For MM and others that enjoy high speed flash photography.

I've enjoyed watching Karl Taylor's tutorials on photographing bottles in the past. Here's one where he demonstrates what's possible using a high speed trigger. He is using the Miops trigger here.

Pretty amazing stuff, now if I could only afford his setup.

i would love to go to Moab and canyonlands NP!! Please post away afterwards. Your family shots are always great so either way I’m looking forward to seeing what you get in those areas. Moab is on the list for me
