As much as I am a fan of your work Butch, for this one, she seems too young and the angle to 'upskirt' for my liking it to be honest.

Agreed.

On the first one, I find the background light in the triangle formed by her left arm to be distracting. I also am distracted by the background lights on either side of her head which form a diagonal through her head.

On the other hand, the lights in the second picture are all to one side and, in fact, form a triangle pointing to her head — an effect I am sure you intended.

thanks y’all,

These were part of a group shoot in which we had many more photographers than models. This was a continuous lighting setup with a large window to boot. It was a challenge getting into the free for all and getting the models’ attention!

Your pictures are gorgeous, Will.

I hate shoots like that. You're exactly right in calling it a free for all.

The reason I do these kinds of group sessions is that I get to pickup tips from others, share some, and network. I met the model in the yellow dress (Sydney) about 6 months ago (B&W below). Since then we’ve been able to do some sessions without the many distractions. I also met Amber there and we’ve had a few sessions with her (the blond pictured below).

This was taken towards the end of a session as the sun was going down and decided to try some artisty with this shot. Does it work? Is it too much? Let me know your thoughts.

She wanted the shot with here eyes closed (to match a photo she took when she was younger) and she moved before I could get her to take one with them open.
