Gary,

I love sharing my photos with others.

IE daughters dance class, during observation day. I probably take 300+ pictures, edit them ending up with 50-75 that I share with the other students families. I even offer to give them the full size images so they can have them printed.

Have been known to shoot buddies cars at different events, even have borrowed them just to go shoot them. I will often send them the pics or even surprise them with prints.

Then there the chasing of my children and the prints of them. Or the family birthday events.

I just like sharing, very similar to me playing sax. "Paid Gigs" are laughable these days. They don't cover the cost of fuel to and from regular rehearsals, reeds, repairs, the food I might eat at there establishment before/after the gig or the few drinks I might order for my wife if she chooses to go.

At the end of the day I just want to share the things I love to do with others. It makes me happy to see a smile on others faces, there is less and less of this today.

I have been working with the dock a bit. I think it is coming around nicely......

Man, I’ve run the MFA from one end to the other and cannot get a crisp shot on the long end. Care to share your console settings?

I think each lens will be different. Here is what I did. Waited for a sunny day and went out on my deck to find my neighbors sheep at the farthest point away from me on their property roughly 1000-1200' away.

I then took 3 shots at each focal length starting at 150mm each time knocking it out of focus, far focus, then near, then far again.

Examined each shot focusing on the same mother sheep.

I looked at where the center of the in focus circle was. 150-300 was actually more difficult as DOF was much more broad. 400-600 was much easier to see.

I noticed everything was front focused so I added +10 in the 400-600 range.

Went outside and did the same shots.

That brought MFA in much better. Then fine tuned from there.

Once that was done I found something on my property for the mid-range which I think is around 60'

And got that much better.

It is close now but maybe slightly off on the mid range but mid and infinity seem to be real close now.

Hoping to fine tune mid and close range the same way.

With that said, I noticed shutter speed needs to be at least 1/500 with stabilization on.

It takes time.

Is it the long end range the only distance you are having trouble with? Are you talking about 600mm from 65ft to infinity? Have you been able to get in focus and sharp images around the short range @ 600mm?

All the recent bird photos you've shown us were very good, but this one broke me and made me use my rarely-used ability to click on "Like".

Photos like this are causing me to reconsider the Tamron 150-600. As I said... I've already decided the Sigma isn't for me. I can do better with my 100-400 ii with the 1.4X. But I think the Tamron, when dialed in, is producing some very nice work.
