Who needs a trigger!
Just tell me the olive landed in vodka!

Look at all that spillage!! So no, not vodka but bottled water instead. And no olives were hurt during the making of this image (unless eating one counts. :p )

Great job Gene and MM on the splash images.

I found this colorful tree in a park in New Braunfels, Texas. Not sure what tree this is.

Thank you Gene! Yes indeed. The wildflowers are starting to blossom. I've seen some good pockets of them on county roads.

Carlo nice shots.

In your opinion, how's the color of the Sigma Art compared to say FE35? If the AF of the Sigma Art 135 with the welded MC-11 is like native, i might replace my 85GM. I don't care about the size. Lisa Holloway and Meg Bitton are even using the giant 200mm F2, i should not complain about the sigma size. On canon days, the 135L is my go to portrait lens.

Beautiful! Rub it in, we had yet another snow....but our blooms will come. Dogwood blooms were the only time of the year I took the now sold Sigma 35ART outside. Now I'm without a 35mm that is fast :(

PSA: Make sure you check your settings after getting your camera back from SPS. I realized 15 min into my event today that I was shooting in JPEG.

I shoot a debut last saturday. It was fun and i realized with two bodies, a 35mm and the 85mm must be enough for wedding.

Lit with Godox AD200 + Cheetahstand Colt45 modifier. I was supposed to use my Parapop 38" Octabox but it was windy so I decided to use the Colt 45. The light isn't bad in my opinion. Small, light and windproof setup.

Awesome shot! Sorry if I missed it...but do you have a BTS shot of your setup?

And has anyone done "splash" photography with a non-macro lense...like maybe a 70-200 or 24-70?

Hey Vinz. Firstly great shot.

Commenting on these two posts as they kinda go hand in hand to me.

The Sigma 135 renders more similarly to the FE 35 than the 85gm does. Both the Sigma and Zony have those vibrant colors and loads of microcontrast, though the Sigma is not as smooth/pleasing as the zony and can be a bit harsh in some light and with busy backgrounds. Sigma lenses seem to have a +25 clarity slider built into the rendering hah.

The 85GM has that dreamy quality to it, but compared to the Zony the colors are really muted and the images have less bite with regards to contrast. Shooting the Zony 35 and the 85 GM side by side requires a little work in post to make sure you have a consistent look throughout the set because the sooc looks are really different.

With regards to 85/35 combo for weddings, those two lenses really can cover most of a wedding. I shot a wedding with Travis this weekend and yeah both of us were really heavy on using the 85gm and Zony 35. A telephoto is often necessary for close up of expressions during the ceremony, and ultra wides are useful for creative looks, scenic shots and fun dance floor shots... But the meat of a wedding can be shot on a 35/85 combo.

If you're shooting weddings, I'd definitely keep the 85 in your kit. 135's are nice because of the compressed FOV, but the working distance is tough to work with. With regards to my wedding last weekend, as much as I like the Sigma 135, once we moved into this small reception space, the lens was useless and I leaned on the 85/35 combo pretty much exclusively. 85mm FOV as a beautiful thing for things like first dances
