Ya... now have one of your clients run and see how well that adapted glass tracks ;)

It's a really good system. Just needs native and I'm having issues with native right now.

I agree it needs native to get the utmost out of the AF system...but there is a huge photo world out there that does not need the utmost AF tracking. Eye- AF is simply amazing and allows you to make images that are extremely hard with traditional focus...but are quite easy with eye AF tracking.

I've been using both native and adapted glass and don't have any issues with AF or image quality. Don't know what your issues are, but I'd look at either your camera has a problem or more likely you have something setup wrong.

Had the A73 a week now, did 1 job with it, impressions

1 - The AF is solid, it is SOLID, so good.
2 - The menu systems, who ever designed that needs a slap. Who put the options of choosing to shoot RAW and then the option to shoot dual RAW about 50 pages apart?!?! Surely that is related.
3 - Sigma MC-11 works just fine with all the Sigma lenses, the 50 Art on it has never been sharper.
4 - The colour is a little off, it leans on the Magenta side.
5 - I miss able to use front dial to move the focus point together with the back wheel…I can assign the rear wheel to move the focus point but not the front dial.
6 - Adobe needs to update LR to recognise RAW ASAP.

Did I mention the focus is ridiculous?

QUOTED IMAGE

How did the 50Art and MC-11 do with eye tracking? Miss focus much, if any?

No issues at all. Works as expected, better than expected.

There are times when I think about selling off the a-mount gear to get into the a7iii with a couple of native primes, but then a thread meltdown happens--lol.

Maybe I'll revisit come Black Friday.

Allegedly, the rumor mill says we might have an announcement from Canon by then on a FF mirrorless pro level according to recent reports..

But Canon being Canon, they would never do what Sony does and put their 1D AF into the 2nd or even 3rd level camera body. The A73 is basically a direct price competitor to the 6D2 and it kicks it's ass in every level.

I hope I am wrong but Canon need to pull something great out of the hat to beat the A73 for $2,000.

Canon aint that bad man. I'm thinking of selling the sony stuff and keep on trucking along w/ the canon stuff a bit longer. I mean.. the 5D has never held me back so far.... whats really lacking in my photography?

...I I know... ME! Just my creative noggin holding me back.

Canon's eventual entry into the FF mirrorless market is certainly interesting and welcome, but I've been pretty happy with Sony since switching 2.5 years ago.

Zeiss and Sony G glass vs EF is pretty much a push for me.

I am not saying Canon is bad, I love my 5D4, but the A73 is erm….like where 5D4 would end up next….and you can have it now.

At a $2K price tag, these numbers are nuts.

They are seriously under pricing this camera, could be $500 more and still be justified.
