Hey Vinz. Firstly great shot.

Commenting on these two posts as they kinda go hand in hand to me.

The Sigma 135 renders more similarly to the FE 35 than the 85gm does. Both the Sigma and Zony have those vibrant colors and loads of microcontrast, though the Sigma is not as smooth/pleasing as the zony and can be a bit harsh in some light and with busy backgrounds. Sigma lenses seem to have a +25 clarity slider built into the rendering hah.

The 85GM has that dreamy quality to it, but compared to the Zony the colors are really muted and the images have less bite with regards to contrast. Shooting the Zony 35 and the 85 GM side by side requires a little work in post to make sure you have a consistent look throughout the set because the sooc looks are really different.

With regards to 85/35 combo for weddings, those two lenses really can cover most of a wedding. I shot a wedding with Travis this weekend and yeah both of us were really heavy on using the 85gm and Zony 35. A telephoto is often necessary for close up of expressions during the ceremony, and ultra wides are useful for creative looks, scenic shots and fun dance floor shots... But the meat of a wedding can be shot on a 35/85 combo.

If you're shooting weddings, I'd definitely keep the 85 in your kit. 135's are nice because of the compressed FOV, but the working distance is tough to work with. With regards to my wedding last weekend, as much as I like the Sigma 135, once we moved into this small reception space, the lens was useless and I leaned on the 85/35 combo pretty much exclusively. 85mm FOV as a beautiful thing for things like first dances

Yep..all of that. The 35/85 was used the most...the 16-35 came out a few times but struggles too much to acquire focus in dim light, I should have used the b18, not as wide but focuses better.

I have a question.

I have two SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB SDXC UHS-I Memory Card . about 1/3 of my pictures I am unable to view them on the camera, or on my computer/laptop.

In LR, it says "Preview unavailable for this file". Is there anything I can do to recover these images?

Do you have the memory card locked?

Card must have gotten corrupted.

Run a disk recovery software of some sort. I use EASUS

Good news and bad news. Good news is I got a message from Joel Tjintjelaar on IG saying he was going to use feedback I provided on a recent post of his for his website. This is in regards to his new BW Artisan Pro panel. He also took the time and liked a few of my black and white images. :-)

Bad news is I lost out on a paid job to shoot a dental office. -? That's the way it goes sometimes.

Are you shooting raw only or raw + jpeg? Are some of the raws showing or only jpeg? Is your LR up to date?

Thanks Mickey! I appreciate that. Yes it's been a slow start to the year from a business stand point. A few accepted paid jobs but also some that didn't materialize.

I was lucky enough to score front row seats behind home plate for a Spring Training game last week with my father. Having never sat in these seats before, I gambled that the 135ZA would be the only lens I would need for the day--and I was mostly right.

The Tigers have a new fireballing reliever they try to promote to setup man every few years, and this is the new guy--Joe Jimenez.
