Hey, it might be a juve BE but Gene is in the Golden zone so just maybe.
We get them closest to us up in West Virginia near Burke's Garden....went once, didn't see one.

POTN don't know but I used the R3 for this one.
ISO 12,8K, not too shabby.

Brazos Bend State Park. You would enjoy it, lots of hiking, tons of wildlife...

This year December we're doing Basque with Eriet...maybe others would like to join us
After Basque petroglyph hunting.

Robert hit me up if you ever visit brazos bend. It's about 20 minutes from me. I'm not much of a birder but would love to give it a try

I'd probably need something longer/faster than the 85gm though lol

yeah, that greenhouse was rough once it got dark! But we had some good light before the sun went down.

Yeah it was tough. Bouncing off glass makes for some hard light...

our local bird nerd will be there...he goes every year. That would be fun...but I think I have my docket full for the year and will be running out of kitchen passes soon...

I've changed the title of that shot on my Flickr page and raise the question of whether it's a Golden Eagle or juvenile Bald Eagle there. Hopefully, I'll be able to go back and get better images for comparison. That rock isn't far from the road. In fact, I shot my photos either through the passenger side window or standing next to my car.

Travis, having the a9 really puts you ahead of the crowd for BIF. The 100-400 is also a wildlife photographers dream lens.
You know how I feel about 'birders' and their check lists but bird photography is always a challenge but the challenges/bierds are
everywhere. Getting a good shot though oftens requires knowing/studying their behavior and that too is fun to learn/study/acquire.
For the lat 3, almost 4 weeks I've been working a hawk.....now I'm realizing he/she has been working me!

Carlo I certainly will. I talked to Poof again about a trip through Louisiana and down into Texas, she'd love it. With the Newfound trip this May and Arizona
in December it will have to be 2019....something to look forward to
