These look very nice to me, but I wish that the noses were sharper. The "People rule" to concentrate on just getting the eyes sharp usually covers the nose at the same time, but dogs have that extra bit of length we need to pay attention to.

I agree to a very small extent; the DOF shouldn't be so shallow that the nose is completely gone.
But I think LHeyden's noses are acceptably sharp. There is plenty of information there for the viewer to understand the subject. Unless the dog has a unique nose (or the owner just loves their dog's nose for other reasons) I say focus on the eyes and let the nose get a little blurred. IMHO, FWIW, my $0.02 worth, etc.

M50+50STM does studio dogs. Doesn't get any cheaper than that.

Here are a couple I took from an animal shelter benefit photo shoot I did at our local training facility. It was a fun time with so many beautiful animals.

My first studio shot of a dog. I work mostly at dog parks but we are setting up a studio.My son is also in the shot hope that's ok.
