If you are on Instagram then search #tamron150600g2 as you will again find some more superb images produced with this lens. Not saying the ones here aren't fantastic, but there are a lot more there. I do however wish IG allowed for more resolution and didn't jack up framing.

Instagram only allows listing from your cellphone. So the images were downloaded to the phone before posting. It's a hassle and the main reason I rarely bother with it

My point wasn't so much to add your photos but rather use it to see others photos, those who took the time to put it on their phones e and upload them to IG.

There are a lot of good shots there. It's just another place to observe.

It is much easier to use flickr and I think the default terms are better (IIRC).

The light was a bit better so I managed to get a few more shots. Male Cardinal and another junco. I was pleasantly surprised with the sharpness at 7.1

I have this lens and really enjoy it. However, some of y'all's shots are a good bit sharper than mine. Are most of these on tripods? Or am I just that much worse holding the lens? I am impressed by the sharpness and want to learn to use the lens better than I am now.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Keltlab,

At first I suffered sharpness issues. It came down to several things.

1) Needed the dock to adjust center of focus point, mine was front focused from the factory.

2) Be mindful of the elements around you.

Our mornings right now are clear but the grass is wet with dew. When the sun comes up, the water starts to turn to vapor and don't really see it by eye. But shooting the sheep 300-500' away at 500-600mm they are soft. Shoot them in the evening and they are sharp.

3) The IS does a good job, but my better steadied on something hand held shots are following aprox 1/4 shutter speed to focal length (500mm = 1/125) - those I steady myself and lens against something.

True hand held shouts with no support are roughly 1/2 shutter speed to focal length.
