What was it about the 1D X2 you didn't like?

It was nice, but the 5D4 was nicer and cheaper, I also found AF more responsive, better resolution, I liked the look of the photos better can't tell what it was, just had that look, the touchscreen is actually really nice and I'm going to miss that on the A7III, but in the end I didn't need the 14fps and the 5D4 just suited me better.
Sadly, I tried the A7III and well, the pics in the end come out the same as the 5D4, but taking the pictures is so much more pleasurable

thank you for your reply. I just bought a 1D X2...so you can understand my interest. I can see the resolution being important and based on your flickr photos, speed doesn't seem to be at the top of your list. I am a bit hmmmm shocked is the word that comes to mind but a better word should be available... shocked that the AF is more responsive on the 5D IV. Coming from a 1D IV, it's quite a leap forward but I haven't ever handled a 5D IV.

I still haven't had the chance to push the 1D X2 in the field. I mostly shoot birds so I hope to change that in the near future.

Thanks again for taking the time to answer my question.

No problem! I haven't updated my Flickr in a long time really lol, but for BIF I found it focused quicker and tracked better, when I shot little league baseball it was also more accurate, I had to send my 5D4 for service and borrowed a friend's 1DX2 and I could really tell the difference, weird because the 1DX2 I thought was supposed to be better. As for the extra resolution, the cropping abilities are pretty awesome. I think 24-30mp is the sweet spot for me for resolution. I recently shot planes with a 1DX at 18mp and I was struggling lol, need more reach because of less crop. The 1DX2 is still a great camera, but to me dollar for dollar the 5D4 is a much better camera

That's why Canon gives us choices (Sony, too!). I've had the 1DX2 and 5D4 for 18 months, and my feelings between the two are the reverse of yours. I get slightly better images from the 1DX2 (even modestly cropped), and I think the AF and tracking are better on the 1DX2. I've never used a Sony.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.
