Thank you MatthewK! I was lucky to have some light for these shots. I had been out shooting wild flowers and spotted the owls as I was leaving. I lined up for the first shot and hit the shutter button and nothing happened, my battery had died. I had to change batteries before I could get the first shot. lol!

We do have them breeding here, but in small numbers. There are 2 subspecies, a northeren Bluethroat - (Luscinia svecica) and a southern Bluethroat (Luscinia svecica) ssp. cyanecula and Denmark is laying in between, so we can be lucky to se both of them. This one is a southern ssp. cyanecula with a white spot on the Throat.

For a cropped shot with an extender that's pretty good, I'd say. Did you use a tripod?
