What would be VERY popular is a 35mm version of the FE85/1.8 - That's something that would sell out & be on backorder everywhere IMO.

I was actually thinking about that earlier. A decent priced 35 1.8 or 2 in the style of the FE85 with the button on the body etc would be superb. I’d also love a 35 by Sony/zeiss like the FE55. Just give us a 35/2 Sony!!

CPL used? I can see right through the water.

no CPL, the water was pretty shallow, just under knee deep...I know the depth, cause I was standing in it...it was cold too...

Yeah, first time I ever saw anything like that either. I’m skeptical of highlight/shadow recovery as a cause because I don’t get chroma bleed like that except with noise reduction - especially chroma noise reduction. And I doubt NR was the cause for you.

Pushing shadows/highlights frequently produces ugly tonal halos, but I have no memory of chroma bleed caused by it. Might be interesting to try and replicate it in an effort to diagnose it...I’m certainly intrigued.

I would be glad to send you a RAW file to play with, to see if you can figure out what causes it...only thing I did that I know of was trying to recover the sky...didn't use any brushes, just H/S and Exposure adjustments.

Here is the raw file if any of you would like to have a play with it.

Moving those sliders in the HSL panel especially the saturation sliders can create some weird color shifts.

That sounds so frustrating. I keep getting logged off Adobe Creative Cloud for some reason. It's also frustrating.

Need some help guys. This is one of those composition related polls. Images are not finalized. Which composition do you prefer more? I like both for various reasons. The first has a nice S curve from the steps leading the eye up to the lighthouse door. It has a bit more dynamic lighting. For #2, I like the clouds surrounding the lighthouse.

my LR installation is dead on the table at the moment...I updated, because 7.2 was crashing a lot, then the new LR Classic wouldn't open...so I went back to 7.2...now it is DOA too...why can't adobe get this right...for once.

I like the gap in the clouds better. The stairs lead you in either way...but the gap in the clouds really helps.

finally LR will open...I just made a copy, and reset the file...did highlights to -45...and that greenish color stuff showed up...only adjustment made...I have no idea what it is, or why, might just be the way the file was too bright in that area to start with...be glad to send it to you to fiddle with...a lot of you guys are better and more knowledgeable about editing than I am...

Both very pleasing to the eye.
Gap in clouds at top of the Lighthouse nice BUT
I like the light on the left side of the steps in the first.
So it's a wash to me.
Forced to choose I'd take the second for the gap and brighten up the sidewall of the stairs.
Or take the sky from the second and put it on the first image ;)

this one is for you Robert...BIF...Great Egret, it was the first catch of the day at Brazos Bend...the bird took off from a great perch, brambles and scrub between us, the a9 just stayed locked on...

I liked the contrast of this one...bright bird, on the dark side of the lake...

You have become BIF master Travis. It's a lot of fun eh? and a bit challenging even with the a9.
Do you use any of the Lock-On modes that Mark Galer is so adamant about? So far I've not but truth I only get to two
or three BIF venues a year so maybe next time I'll give lock-on a try.
