Butts - you had three really good concepts. The only thing that lets them down for me is that the color of the bricks on the original image doesn't seem to match your new conception. Perhaps use the "colorize" function in a Hue/Saturation layer (at least in Photoshop) to make them more closely match. Otherwise - excellent result!

Medd63, understand. Something I didn't really think about when I was knocking them up. Focused too much on the meld rather than the overall finished result.

Next time.......... :p

Chet, I do appreciate the criticism from medd63. Even though its a competition, I like to get feedback as it will only help me with my own PP skills when processing my own images.
This is one of the best parts of the forum, the freedom to experiment and play with images to enhance ones own PP skills.

Pretty simple idea, inspired by THIS thread.

I post a picture, and everyone downloads it, plays around with it and then posts their version of it. After a week or so, I come in, choose the one I like best, and that person posts their own photo. We spend the next week playing with theirs, and then they choose a winner. Repeat ad nauseum.

A few rules...

When you post a photo, leave it as it was straight out of camera.

And don't go overboard with the editing. So no adding in sharks jumping out of the water for extra coolness. The idea is to finish the photo, not to edit it so much that it's unrecognizable.

To start with, here's the first image! Click on it for the full sized version.

For that reason this weeks's winner is Benitoite, Congrats!

I believe the rules can be interpreted by the winner, its their choice.
Some prefer a "closer" PP to the actual original image, others enjoy the leeway and fun of going "wild".

No big deal really, and congratulations to Benitoite.

I went back and looked at 40 paged of posts from the beginning. Seems taking liberties has been part of the game from early on.

Suzbah picked his winner based on what he wants the rules to be. On to the next picture and then Benitoite can decide how he wants to judge it. None of this will change the way I edit a picture for the competition.

Sony a7R3a/a6300/ 16-70/4 / 70-200/4 G / 12-24/4 G/ 24-105/4 G /Sony HVL-60M
