Anyone else creeped out over this privacy and data breach stuff? I got rid of facebook months ago and never looked back. I de-activated my page and am actually thinking of deleting it outright.

Also thinking of google and how much I've let them track basically everything I do. Mind you I have an android phone, google home, and all sorts of nest products in my home. The idea that they are literally tracking everything about me everything doesn't feel right. I got rid of chrome and am using firefox with some tracker blocking ad-ons. But am really thinking of ditching gmail, nest, and android too.

i deactivated Facebook a few months ago after coming back for a few months after 2 years of deactivation. The first time I deactivated you couldn’t even delete the account, it was always there and all you had to do was put a password in. I’m happy to see now it can be completely deleted. Haven’t done it yet though

Yeah I don't miss facebook, but I hesitate to delete it outright because I don't want to lose my stories. Anyone I care to keep in touch with, I do via old school means as its more meaningful anyway.

I think these days 'stories' are less about sharing, and more about documenting for us. So we've made a point of categorizing personal stuff a bit better at home so we can pull them up more easily when we want to look back. Basically re-purposed an old hard drive to store and access all our family stuff and that's our new facebook. This gets backed up to my backblaze cloud too.

Last of the Milky Ways for a while :)
I also took a Rokinon 24mm F1.4 to the cabin the other night
and a first at using the Ioptron Skytracker Pro.
Benefits=way lower ISO of course.
Bad was with all the trees I could not find Polaris so I was not truly aligned so there
is star movement but it was just over a minute exposure.
I've not shot the Milky Way at ISO 1600 before, usually I'm anywhere from 5000-8000.

If I'd shot with a wide angle (14,15mm) then it would have been even better for apparent star movement.
Overall a good learning experience.
The other thing working against me was the Sun, we started around 0400, using the 55/1.8 first, then the
Laowa 15/2; by the time I got the the Rok 24/1.4 the Sun was already making itself known.

Very cool lee. The mist adds to the shot

With regards to 1600px are you just copying and pasting the BBCode from Flickr for the 1600 version? As the file size limit only applies if you upload to the potn server I think

Yes google is perhaps the worst.

BUT...ever since I turned on this tracker blocker on firefox, I've been keeping an eye on the trackers its been shutting down. Long story short, there's a facebook tracker that's been stopped when visiting websites the presumably have nothing to do with facebook. wtf right?

Any capture clip/holster users?

Aside from using a dedicated photography, I was in the market for a stronger regular belt, as holstering seemed to kill my belt pretty fast. Went through a few levi's belt, and they seem to get all busted up over a few months of use, and only found out another solution............ gun belts! Apparently, gun users face the same issue, and gun belts look like normal belts, but much tougher and dont sag. They are a cross between construction leather belts and normal belts. So far, they dont flinch when I holster the camera, looking to be a great solution.
