That's a great shot. No matter how many photos of cardinals I see, they still continue to fascinate me. I do wish we had had them out here in California.

In May 2012, after an unexpected snowfall in Yellowstone National Park, my wife and I purposely returned to a field where we had previously seen numerous Mountain Bluebirds, figuring their amazingly brilliant blue color would make a nice contrast with the new snow. Bluebirds were still the most numerous species in the meadow that also contained several Sage Thrashers, a few sparrows and a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
